It’s ASB Awareness Week making communities across the UK safer – which is exactly what our Safer Communities Team do in communities and neighbourhoods where Bernicia tenants live.
Our team – pictured together – has many years’ professional experience working in partnership with police forces and local authorities.
They know how this combined expertise working with people and communities can resolve anti-social behaviour which blights lives.
Victims don’t need to suffer in silence. Our team is here to help.
Our team is passionate about creating safer and more cohesive communities, enabling them to be more resilient to crime and anti-social behaviour.
Our new community safety model at Bernicia further strengthens our already pro-active and victim-focused approach, tackling anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, hate crime and harassment.
The team support and encourage customers and communities to report anti-social behaviour, our officers investigate reports, explore causes, assess risk, provide support and signpost to support services.
When needed, the team will take proportionate court action to enforce tenancy conditions to deal with acts of anti-social behaviour, which can result in perpetrators losing their home.
Our team work closely with partners to deliver projects and services in communities to help prevent anti-social behaviour and educate about behaviour and safety.
It’s ASB Awareness Week Partnership Day today, and so we’re celebrating the team and all its partners, who share our aim of working with people to tackle the corrosive impact of anti-social behaviour.

Bernicia is strengthening its pledge to help care leavers into housing and employment by supporting the national Care Leaver Covenant. The covenant is a promise made by private, public and voluntary sectors to provide support for care leavers aged 16-25 to help them live independently.
