Bernicia is today launching an innovative new scheme to unlock the employability potential of people across the North of Tyne area and open up career opportunities for people aged 25 and over.
New Start, funded by more than £700,000 from the Government’s UK Community Renewal Fund, will offer real life work experience and a real wage to Bernicia tenants as well as customers at partner organisations across the area.
A total of 68 jobs are going live, with successful candidates starting in post in February.
All positions to apply for are live from Friday December 10th 2021. To view available positions and to apply visit the New Start web page www.karbonhomes.co.uk/newstart
Bernicia is partnering with Changing Lives, Your Homes Newcastle, Efficiency North, Northumberland County Council, North Tyneside Council, North of Tyne Combined Authority and Karbon Homes to deliver New Start, offering customers aged 25 and over the opportunity to get real life work experience, with a real wage and the qualifications needed to boost careers.
The roles are exclusively available to tenants and customers of these organisations. Bernicia is offering six assistant estates operative roles within its estates services team, making a real difference to the community environments where our tenants live.
Everyone on the scheme will be given dedicated one to one support to ensure they get the best possible results and experience from the role.
The partnership has received £716,612 from the Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund, an initiative which aims to support people and communities most in need across the country.
The project will incorporate new ways of thinking and build on the success of existing employment schemes.
