Bernicia and Learning Curve Group – working together in partnership to give tenants and local communities the skills and confidence to access work and new opportunities.
We are working over the next four months to offer people aged 19 and over the chance to gain the skills needed to access employment in the customer service, children and young people’s mental health care, adult social care and hospitality sectors.
The courses are free to attend and on completion will give the learner a Level 2 qualification as well as the softer skills essential for success in the workplace.
Expert tutors from Spennymoor-based Learning Curve Group will lead learners through the course.
Learning Curve Group is one of the largest and most diverse training providers in the country, helping more than 4,500 employers every year with their workplace training plans.
Louise Allinson, Director of Adult Skills at Learning Curve Group, said: “I am really proud of this partnership with Bernicia and I am hopeful that we can give tenants the tools they need to secure meaningful employment and build better futures for themselves and their families.
“We work closely with the North East Combined Authority to provide funded training opportunities for people in the region to support their goals of upskilling and increasing employment, something that’s particularly important to us as a Durham-based business.”
Jackie Johnson, Bernicia Employability Manager, said: “Our partnership with Learning Curve Group will deliver skills training directly to Bernicia tenants and local people, helping build their confidence and open up new opportunities for them to gain employment and pursue a fulfilling career.”
The four-course employability programme is part of Bernicia’s wider commitment to tenants and North East communities delivered through its team of employment experts.
